Corrections Policy

How we handle factual errors when they happen.

We aim to be accurate the first time, but errors happen. When they do, we correct them transparently rather than silently editing the record.

How to report an error

Anyone can submit a correction request. We only ask for the information needed to investigate: what the error is, where it appears, and any supporting evidence.

What happens next

Every correction request is reviewed by an editor. If the request identifies a material factual error, we publish a correction notice that includes the original publication date, the correction date, an explanation of what changed, and the name of the approving editor. The original version remains available in the content history.
